Amber Morris grew up in the thriving Bay Area music scene of the early 70’s. Her mother, a singer with San Francisco icons Ace of Cups and Big Brother & the Holding Co., left a deep imprint. As a shy 11 yr old, she was introduced to the stage through dance, and found herself at home for the first time. The stage became a comfortable place for self expression and a platform she would never leave. By the age of 15, Amber cut her teeth singing backgrounds with her sister April in her uncle's reggae band, Smoke, Inc. She went on to pay her dues playing the Bay Area club scene in search of the elusive record deal with various original projects picking up many fans along the way, such as Psychefunkapus, and Burning TV. As a vocalist, Amber has performed in the capacity of both lead and background with the many amazing talents, including: husband, Tal Morris (CCR, Sons of Champlin, Huey Lewis & the News), Dave Meniketti and Y&T, Eric Martin (Mr. Big, 415), Atma Anur (Richie Kotzen, Journey), Bonnie Hayes (Grammy nominated songwriter), Kevin Hayes (Robert Cray), Vernon Black (Mariah Carey), Booker T. Jones (Booker T & the MG's), Zairean superstar Shaka Ra Mutela (Papa Wembe, Zap Mama), Leslie Smith (Chaka Khan), Michael Carabello (Santana), Bernie Worrel (Talking Heads), Jimmy Dillon (Clarence Clemmons). Additional credits include recording for Sesame Street, King of the Hill, Jesse Colin Young, Ted Nugent and Warner Bros. Music for Little People.
Amber has been a voice and performance coach for over 8 years and lives in her native Marin County, CA with her husband and daughter. Amber's passion for living life fully continues as a parent, wife, performer, voice coach, and evolving human.
